Assorted Stuff #2

It’s 8 in the morning, and instead of sleeping, I’m writing this because I clearly don’t know any better. Within the break is an impressive doujin fighting game made with the Fighter Maker 2K engine, some inane BBCS glitch with Hazama vs Hakumen, and potential broken English due to lack of sleep.

Was just playing through Hazama’s arcade mode. I normally do 5D counterhit to Mizuchi Rekkazan, but Hakumen cut my chain beforehand. I let out the distortion anyway.. I’m sure you can imagine my surprise. Had to recreate it, and upload it.

Known about it for a while, but recently got back into it. It’s an impressive ‘Tales of’ doujin fighter made with FM2K,  has over 30 characters and more in the making. Made by Anibache, the current character list is as followed:

The game itself in parts(along with various DLC) can be found here (in Japanese), but I have .rar’d, extracted, and uploaded all of the files already, along with the Lunaport client (with all its settings set)for playing it online, which can be found here. Lunaport is pretty self explanitory, but in order to host, you need your IP and a forwarded port(if you don’t know how to do that, check portforward.com). If you cannot forward your ports, then the easiest way for you to play online would be to get Hamachi. Any further questions can be asked in the comments here. The above character list was taken from the OP of an ACS thread on the (official?) namco tales of forums.

Some of the main reasons why I’m so drawn to it are, firstly, it is immensely faithful to the ‘Tales of’ series. All of the attacks, artes, hi-ougis ie animations, music.. everything. The sprites are all wonderfully custom made, and look professional. The gameplay is also immensely faithful to the ‘Tales of’ series, and that’s most of what makes it so fun. Try it, if you’re a ‘Tales of’ fan, you’re going to love it (if you dont, w0w).

There’s also an update on the way very soon, evidently! In the event it is released, I’ll update about it.

Edit: That upload was broken, and I’m currently uploading a proper one. Will update when finished. Was also planning on writing about a couple other impressive FM2K games, but I’m just too damn tired. Maybe for Assorted Stuff #3.

This one has there up-to-date English names for that character, with the Japanese (non-Kanji) ones replacing any fan-translations.

Now, the Command list doesn’t have ALL the characters on it, for now I only translated the characters that I’d use, but, if anyone wants a character added, feel free to say so, and I’ll add it.
